21 Cats, Endless Insanity, Lots of Love

It started with 4 cats - fairly normal. Then Bug & Lady Bug happened. Now we're a family of 21 — and we're documenting every bit of the chaos, from wellness tips to furry friendships and pawsome adventures.

The OG's

The four OG's BEFORE all the insanity started. Sweat Pea is the eldest followed by Pinky, Bubba and Sparky being the youngest OG at only 3 years young. It was relatively normal with 4 cats and a dog-cat until Bug brought home a girlfriend... that's when the insanity started.

Bug wasn't an OG but we had been feeding him off and on for a few years. We even "tried" to get him fixed and make him and indoor cat which was a colossal failure!! Lady Bug shows up a few years later… I'm sure you can guess by now but Lady Bug was Bug's Lady in every way. He didn't just make the kids he kind of helped with saving them too. The First Litter: A Complete Surprise

Bud, Lu & Cu were born outside in late winter somewhere near our house and were brought to our front porch by Dad. If you check Bud's Bio you'll notice that one of his nick names is Little-Bug - minus the health issues the resemblance is spot on.

The Second Litter: What the Cuss?

Another Litter - what the cuss? If you are wondering why we didn't fix Lady Bug after the first litter it's simple - she was feral as cuss and we couldn't get within 30 feet of her.

You've got to be kidding me I said when a 3rd group of kittens showed up with Lady... we were still in the process of getting the second litter spayed and neutered and talking about how to catch or trap Mom.

The Fourth Litter: Oh My!

These cute little kitten cussers were the first crew to be born inside (garage) and not having to struggle for survival. We were able to lure Lady into our garage with food and shut her in while she was eating. She was NOT happy and growling fiercely. Even several days later we couldn't get near her.

The Final and Biggest Cat

Okay, we're cheating a bit with #21 — but if you ever met River, you'd know why she made the hoard. She doesn't bark, sleeps on the couch 16 hours a day, is a supremely finicky eater, and — probably from being surrounded by 20 cats — exudes total cat behavior. Just enough sass mixed with typical husky energy to reveal her inner cat.
